Ricardo Brazziell / USA TODAY NETWORK

The NBA has seen many funny moments come and go on and off the pitch regularly. Recently, on the NBA on TNT show, legends Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley were involved in a hilarious exchange. Both the players took shots at each other regarding their past.

On the NBA on TNT show, a video where O’Neal was getting dominated by former NBA player, Hakeem Olajuwon was aired. Chuck seemed to be mocking O’Neal after viewing the video. However, O’neal quickly snapped at Barkley for not winning any NBA rings in his career.

But chuck..but chuck...I got cooked and came back and won 4. You got cooked by Michael Jordan and you never came back. Thank you Michael Jordan! Shaquille O’Neal said on the NBA on TNT show

On the sports side of things, O’Neal’s swipe toward Chuck has a point. Shaquille O’Neal was the winner of four NBA titles, one MVP award, three Finals MVP honors, and the Rookie of the Year title. On the other hand, Charles Barkley did not win a single NBA championship in his career.

Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley were recently absent on the NBA on TNT show

The tension has been on the rise in the media end, particularly since ESPN, NBC, and Amazon Prime began competing with TNT for the NBA’s television rights. Not only that, NBA greats and familiar faces of the NBA on TNT show, Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley were absent on the show recently.

However, sports reporter Michael McCarthy revealed the reason behind their absence on social media platform X.

If you’re wondering why Charles Barkley + Shaquille O’Neal are NOT on for ‘Inside the NBA’ pregame show, they are in NYC preparing to pitch ad buyers at TNT Sports’ Upfront presentation Wednesday. Smart move: TNT’s 40-year NBA relationship hanging by thread. Michael McCarthy wrote

This comes after the NBA made an alluring offer of roughly $2.5 billion annually for the remaining rights, outbidding TNT’s $1.2 billion. The two most adored hosts of the show were left crossing their fingers as this escalated the conflict even more.
